Therapy That Understands Where You Come From
Living abroad can be rewarding and isolating at the same time. You may have built a career, a home and a circle of friends, and yet carry a persistent feeling that nobody around you quite understands what you are dealing with. The pressure of family expectations back home, guilt about ageing parents, the strain of straddling two cultures, or grief for someone you could not be with: these are things that many therapists in your city of residence may find hard to grasp without long explanation.
Many non-resident Indians and members of the wider Indian diaspora tell us the same thing. They want to speak to someone who already understands the context, who knows what a joint family means, what is meant by log kya kahenge, and why a decision about marriage or a parent's care can feel like a moral weight. Anuradha Banerji Sarkar offers online sessions to international clients from her South Delhi practice, drawing on more than thirty-five years of experience with families in Delhi and across India.
Who Online Therapy Helps
Online sessions work for the same wide range of concerns as in-person work. International clients most often come with anxiety and overthinking, stress and burnout linked to demanding careers, sleep difficulties, and homesickness or a sense of cultural dislocation. Others come for grief, particularly when a death in India meant travelling at short notice or not being able to travel at all, and for relationship strain within a marriage or between generations.
Some clients seek help to stop smoking or other habits through hypnotherapy, and some to explore recurring patterns or unexplained fears through past life regression. All of these can be done effectively over a secure video call, and many clients find they settle into the process more easily from the privacy of their own home.
Does Online Therapy Really Work?
It is a fair question, and the honest answer is that for most people and most concerns, it does. Counselling and CBT rely on conversation, attention and structured exercises, all of which translate well to video. Hypnotherapy depends on your ability to relax and focus, and many clients find that being in a familiar, comfortable room actually helps them settle faster. Sessions are guided by voice, so a good connection and a quiet space are what you need.
There are limits, of course. Therapy is not a substitute for emergency care, and anyone in immediate danger should contact local emergency services. For ongoing, non-emergency support, however, online work is a well-established and effective option, and it opens up the possibility of working with a specific therapist you trust regardless of where either of you lives.

Time Zones, Scheduling and Practicalities
The clinic operates Monday to Saturday, 10 AM to 7 PM India Standard Time, with Sunday sessions possible by prior arrangement. For clients in the UK, Europe, the Middle East, Singapore, Australia and much of Asia, this overlaps comfortably with evenings or early mornings. For clients in North America, early-morning sessions in India correspond to the previous evening in the US and Canada, and a mutually workable time can usually be found. Share your time zone when you get in touch and the team will propose options.
All you need is a stable internet connection, a device with a camera and microphone, and a private room where you will not be interrupted. Headphones help with both audio quality and privacy. Sessions are confidential, and nothing is recorded or shared without your explicit written consent.
Fees for International Clients
The fee for international clients is US$40 per hour. For clients in India, the fee remains Rs.2,000 per 60-minute session. There are no hidden charges, and the fee covers counselling, CBT, hypnotherapy and past life regression alike. Payment arrangements for clients outside India can be discussed when you book, and Anuradha's team will guide you through the simplest option for your country.
Because the fee is per hour and sessions are focused and unhurried, many clients find they can plan a realistic course of work with a clear sense of cost from the start.
Sessions in English, Hindi and Bengali
One of the quiet advantages of working with an Indian therapist is language. If your emotional vocabulary is richest in Hindi or Bengali, you can speak in that language and be understood fully, including the idioms, proverbs and family terms that do not translate neatly. Many clients abroad have not spoken about their feelings in their mother tongue for years, and doing so in therapy can be surprisingly powerful.
Sessions are also available in English, so you can switch between languages as you need to.
How to Begin
Getting started is simple. Use the WhatsApp or email buttons on this page and tell Anuradha's team a little about what you are looking for and which country and time zone you are in. They respond within 24 hours, suggest session times and answer any questions about the process. If you are unsure whether online therapy will suit you, ask. A short conversation beforehand is often enough to settle the doubt.
Distance should not be the reason you go without support. If you have been carrying something alone, a conversation with someone who understands both your world and your roots may be exactly what you need.
